Employment Pass Salary Requirements & Required Documents (2026)
A practical, checklist-style reference for what’s actually required in an Employment Pass application — useful whether you’re preparing your own application or reviewing what your employer/agent has assembled.
First of all, not every salary amount will qualify for Employment Pass. There are minimum salary tresholds which are updated by MOM from time to time.
Minimum salary thresholds
Sector | Minimum monthly salary |
Non-financial sectors | SGD 5,600 |
Financial services | SGD 6,200 |
Thresholds increase with age and seniority — older, more senior applicants are benchmarked against higher local comparables. These figures should be checked against the current Ministry of Manpower schedule before submission, as they’re reviewed periodically.
Note: meeting the minimum salary is necessary but not sufficient — see the COMPASS framework for how salary fits into the overall scoring.
Document checklist
- ☐ Valid passport
- ☐ CV / resume with full salary history
- ☐ Educational certificates (subject to independent verification by an MOM-appointed agency)
- ☐ Marital status documents
- ☐ Completed Employment Pass application form
- ☐ Company’s latest business profile / ACRA filing (for the employing entity)
- ☐ Letter of appointment or employment contract specifying role and salary
Processing timeline
- Typical processing time: 30 days to 2 months
- May extend if MOM requests additional information — common triggers include unclear role descriptions, salary that sits right at the minimum threshold, or credential verification delays
- Recommended buffer: plan for the longer end of the range if you’re tying the application to a relocation date, lease, or school enrolment
Common reasons applications stall
- Credential verification taking longer than expected — start this early
- Salary set at the bare minimum with no supporting justification for the role’s seniority
- Incomplete or inconsistent documentation between the CV, contract, and application form
- Missing context on the employing company (especially for newly incorporated entities)
