For Freelancers & Remote Workers
You don’t need to live in Singapore to build your business around it. A growing number of our clients keep their company’s banking, legal standing, and reputation anchored in Singapore — while living and working from wherever suits them: Bangkok, Lisbon, Mexico City, anywhere with decent WiFi.
If your business runs independently of your physical location, a Singapore company can give you the financial infrastructure and credibility of one of the world’s most respected jurisdictions, without requiring you to relocate, apply for residency, or set foot in the country at all.
Why Singapore works for location-independent businesses
A Singapore Private Limited company gives you access to genuinely multi-currency, internationally trusted banking — DBS, OCBC, UOB, and dozens of other institutions that international clients and payment platforms recognize and trust. You also get one of the most competitive corporate tax regimes among developed economies, with no capital gains tax, and a tax treaty network covering more than 90 countries.
Just as importantly, a Singapore-registered company signals stability. When you invoice a client in the US or EU, or apply for a payment processor, a Singapore entity with a real registered address and a real director carries weight that many offshore structures simply don’t.
What you actually need (and don't need)
This is where most people get confused. If you’re a freelancer or remote founder who wants the company, the banking, and the reputation — but you intend to keep living and working from wherever you already are — you typically need:
- A registered Singapore Private Limited company
- A local registered address, corporate secretary and most likely a local nominee director (we provide this)
- Ongoing accounting and annual compliance filing
You generally don’t need an Employment Pass for this. The EP is for founders who want to live and work in Singapore as a director or employee of their own company — a different goal entirely, with its own salary thresholds and COMPASS scoring requirements. If that’s actually what you’re after, our Employment Pass guide → covers it in full.
Common situations we help with
- Freelancers and consultants invoicing international clients who want a more credible, bankable invoicing entity
- Remote-first SaaS founders who want a Singapore holding or operating company without relocating
- Digital nomads who want their business legally and financially separate from their personal tax residency
- Online business owners who’ve outgrown sole proprietorship structures in their home country
How it works
We start with a free assessment of your situation — what you’re trying to achieve, and whether a Singapore company (with or without an Employment Pass) is genuinely the right fit. From there, we handle registration, banking introductions, and ongoing compliance, so the company runs cleanly in the background while you focus on your business.
